Trelawnyd Flower Show 2014

First , I will pass on the blog news!
Mr Butler, our Elvis loving , national flower judge agreed with some humour , to judge the blogger " novelty veg" competition
The winner was kitty from New Zealand
And second was Rachel's " tits"......
In my speech I told the story of how the whole spectacle came to pass.

I will add a few photos taken by Chris and talented fellow committee member Hannah
And I am off , for a lie down in a dark room.
Suffice to say
Thanks to all involved

  8. Sorry, but I think it's bordering on a crime that the Yellow Pepper 'Scream' did not get even a mention - that was truly a work of minimal effort for maximum results. I do love the Green Man and Tits, though.

  18. Congratulations on your wins John- well deserved! The committee put on a fabulous show this year. The photos reveal lots of entries, amazing color and plenty of talent. I am so happy that your & boiled fruitcake wins have restored your honor & knocked Terry on his arse. Lie down and put some leftover cucumber slices on your eyes and put this all behind you - until next Spring rolls around again.

  24. Well done to you and the committee, John, for such an excellent show. It gets bigger and better every year and the standard of entries in all the categories is fantastic. And now it's gone global with a winner from New Zealand - it would be interesting to know how many countries were represented in a small Welsh village!

  34. I love it that a Kiwi was a winner... yay for us! Loved all the entries, the cakes, and the preserves, the flowers were amazing and the veg basket that won best in show were brilliant specimens. I love village shows and miss them terribly..but we have a similar thing at our local A and P shows (agricultural and pastoral) which is also a yearly event and entered by just about everyone in our little town. Love the tablecloths John they looked fab. Well done to all the hard working committee members, it takes work to pull it off well.

  41. Well done on all fronts. WE are eating boiled fruit cake fresh from the oven as I type. PS Yes, it is hot, it did crumble and it is divine, and I don't care, I had to, under the circumstances xo PPS not your recipe, the Edmonds Cookbook recipe, which in NZ is sacred.

  42. Oh John! I'm in awe of the Trelawnyd Village show!
I must do an entry next year!
Should have had a bet on the Novelty Veg winner!
Trelawnyd went Global this year hey?Of course, a great deal of the input was due to you too, you deserve a couple of the best scotch eggs and a bottle of something delish to celebrate!
With The Wedding coming next year, will you still be able to to do so much for the show?
I think that the Beeb should do "A Year in Trelawnyd", it would have a Global following lol!
Have a great day today and feel the love and appreciation coming your way from everywhere!
